Hello all. I haven't been very active on this journal lately. I think it's because this journal has kind of run it's course. I will now be known as [info]seti_alpha_five. Go add me there if you'd like. I will be adding all of you in a few minutes. This journal will remain open so if you want to still keep it on your f-list, feel free.

How do you choose which books to read?

I read plot summaries online or get recommendations from friends or my husband. If I like a certain book by an author, I'll buy more of his/her books.

Good Lord, I rarely update! Not much has really changed in my life. All that is really new is I have a new haircut and color. No pictures of it yet though. I no longer have a working camera. I may save up some money and buy myself one. Not much more to say I guess...

It's been quite a while since I've updated. I guess because not much has changed in my life. The anti-depressant is working good, my job is tiring, but I actually like it, and well, we are still living with my mom. I think I'll dye my hair red tomorrow.

Cornicus tagged me

The rules are easy, just post 6 things that recently made you happy! Then tag 6 people and force them to post this meme on their LJs. Because it is good. Everyone needs a little happiness once in awhile.

1. My medicine. I know that sounds bad, but it lifts my spirits everyday.
2. Nick told me he might get a higher paying job in Dallas within the next year!
3. Transformers
4. Shia LaBeouf in Transformers
5. Comfy new pjs.
6. Eating the yummiest nachos I have ever had.

Not going to tag anybody because I don't think anybody will do it, but do it if you want to and say I tagged you.

It's been a bit since I've posted. I finally saw the doctor and she prescribed me Prozac. I feel better already. I haven't had the weepies or felt exhausted for no reason or anything of the sort since I've been taking it. I'm glad I finally got the help I needed. Work has been okay, exhausting but okay. Won't have to deal with customers until November 3rd.

Haven't been posting much lately. I really haven't had the time. It's sad that one of the few sanctuaries I have here on good old eljay has had so much drama lately. I just stay out of it. Don't really want to deal with it even though I do have my opinions on it. Nick got me a Nintendo DS today. It's pretty and pink! I got Brain Age to play on it and I will probably go get another game tomorrow. Oh, I don't remember if I told you guys and I don't feel like going back and reading, but I finally called that friend of Nick's and we all hung out. I think I'm going to call her again tomorrow so we can hang out again. Maybe for just a girl's night out. It could be fun.

I found the other day that Nick had left this comment on my myspace:

"Sometimes I wonder if there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Then I realize it doesn't matter...I'm in that tunnel with you."

He is just the greatest guy. I couldn't love him more.

thank you for being a friend
Comment on this post and I will pick 7 of your interests from your profile and ask you to explain what they mean and why you're interested in them. Post this in your own journal along with your answers so others can play along.

Natalie picked:

1. colorful socks- I love having a hint of crazy colors or patterns coming out from underneath my jeans. People always comment on them.

2. gum- I have an oral fixation and since I don't like cigarettes, gum fulfills the need.

3. intelligence- Intelligence is the sexiest thing in the world to me. I'm lucky I married a man who can carry on a good conversation.

4. j.d. salinger- When I read and fell in love with Catcher in the Rye, I had to read more of his books, and reading more of his books made me fall in love with him.

5. lotion- I have about 15 different lotions of all sorts and all scents. I'm just addicted.

6. torturing emo kids- Heh, this is an inside joke between Nick and me. This extremely scene, emo kid was bothering Nick one time and he basically put the kid in his place.

7. turtles- The first pet I've ever had that's my own is my turtle Thomas. He is just the cutest thing on earth and after 5 years is still growing. I love him like he was my son.

I finally got the guts to call Nick's ex-coworker. She was at a store and said she'd call me back. I think she was happy I called. Let's just see if she calls back.

Edited to add:

She called and we're probably going to hang out this weekend. I am happy :D

I am an employed woman again! I'm so happy! I think it really helped that I worked for the company before. It's going to be nice to have my own money again. I am in a good mood right now :D

I emailed the ex-coworker of Nick's and she emailed me back saying to give her a call anytime. Now I just have to work up the courage to call her. I don't know why I'm so nervous about it. It's not like I have a crush and am trying to work up the courage to call said crush. I just get nervous and self conscious. I don't need to be though. She likes me and I don't think she will judge me.

Is Sad-Bender
I feel like talking to somebody other than Nick, but I have nobody. I talk to him about almost everything, but I need a female friend. I need the kind of kinship women friends can have. I want to become friends with one of the women we went out with on Saturday, but she just quit and I get the feeling she and Nick will be talking less and less. I have her number, but I get really nervous talking on the phone to people I know. I'd like to call her and kind of arrange a girl's night out, but I would just feel weird doing that. I guess if I want a new friend, I'm going to have to take the initiative.

Nick and I went out Saturday night like real grown ups. We went to a bar at Mexican restaurant with a couple of his female coworkers. It was really fun. I even had the guts to get up and dance with them. I thought I would suck, but I guess I dance pretty good to Mexican music. It was nice being able to get out of the house and actually talk with other women. I don't have many friends, so it will be nice to start up a new friendship.

I am at school and feel like crap. I had to go the doctor yesterday because I was feeling so bad. I now have to take 3 different medicines, an antibiotic for the infection, and a steroid and an inhaler to keep me breathing properly. I want to go home, but I'm not here much longer so I won't complain.

Who was your favorite teacher in school? Why were they your favorite?

Here I'm going to talk about my favorite college professor. His name was Dr. Hays. At least I think he had his doctorate. He taught the second half of Texas and American Government. I really liked him because he was straight and to the point. He gave good notes and went through the notes with us the class before a test and told us exactly what to study. He made the class so easy and so fun. Tell me who yours is/was.

Who was your first crush? What were they like?

If you want to go by technicalities it was Chad Smith when we were three. Yes, I know 3 is too young to be thinking about crushes, but he was mine. He was nice at the time, but from what Nick told me, he turned out to be a big asshole. Tell me who yours was...
